About Us

Over the last century, children have been placed into a ward, group home or private home of a state-certified caregivers. The placement is usually arranged through government or social services agencies who make all legal decisions for the child, leaving the day-to-day care of the minor child the responsibility of foster parents. Almost 10% of children in foster care have stayed in foster care for five or more years.  Nearly half of all children in foster care have chronic mental problems. Many children have experienced child abuse in forms of emotional deprivation, sexual and physical abuse and physical neglect.
My name is Robin Johnson. I am the founder and executive director of Miracle Mission. Every time I heard the story of child in foster care, I asked, what can be done to show these kids they are important, loved and are here for a purpose. Children, through no cause of their own, were put into situations where their parents could not take care of them, either by illness, death or by poor life choices. Stories of children suffering from fear, depression, abuse, neglect and other conditions you would never wish on your worst enemy, were heart wrenching. I knew I had to do something. A seed of an idea was watered and grew into Miracle Mission. Here, we walk alongside foster parents to inspire, encourage and influence foster children to overcome their circumstances.
